Review of Learning
"the organisation reviews the impact that people's learning and development has had on performance and identifies improvements as a result"
Measuring the impact of Learning and Development on business performance will determine the appropriateness and relevance of the following processes: (1) Identification of Learning Needs, (2) Planning and Implementation of Learning and Development. The result of this measurement will inform future interventions which are appropriate to business needs.
Using the Excellence Through People process will help and support the organisation to:
- Evaluate its learning and developnent programmes;
- Highlight the linkages between learning and performance;
- Use evaluation methods and tools;
- Understand the importance of evaluating training and development programmes using the Four Levels.
Excellence Through People organisations are committed to:
- Evaluating learning programmes including induction;
- Evaluating training resources;
- Improving the quality of learning activities;
- Using evaluation systems that identify improvements in employees' knowledge, skills, attitude and performance;
- Evaluating employee feedback on training, line management involvement and the impact of investments in training and development;
- Ensuring that new learning is fully integrated into the workplace.
