Excellence Through People Approvals Board

The Excellence Through People Approvals Board is an independent body whose principal function is to consider applications for the award of the Excellence Through People Standard based on assessment reports from Assessors. This board adjudicates on the award of the Standard to applicant organisations.

The Board may review the criteria for the granting of awards and the operation of the accreditation and make or approve any modifications that are considered appropriate.

Members of the Approvals Board

The Approvals Board includes representatives of the social partners, stakeholders from private and public sectors and a FÁS Board representative. The Chairperson is appointed by the FÁS Executive.  The current board was appointed in September 2006 and meets on a monthly basis or with such frequency as is dictated by demand.

Michael Mc Donnel – Chairman of the FÁS Excellence Through People Approvals Board

Michael McDonnell is the Director of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in Ireland. He is a visiting lecturer and external examiner at a number of leading business schools and is a regular contributor on HR issues in the national media. Michael is the current President of the European Association of Personnel Management – the representative body for personnel and development professionals in 27 European countries and Turkey.
